Each month we feature a hotel venue that’s worth shining the spotlight on. It may be a hot and trendy new boutique property, a historic classic, or a freshly renovated staple. Whichever the route, you’ll want to keep these venues in your back pocket for your next meeting or conference. Read on to learn why The West Hollywood EDITION is our February 2020 Venue Spotlight.
The West Hollywood EDITION – Our March 2020 Feature
February may have been a busy month, but we couldn’t head into our March venue spotlight without first sharing this beautiful new hotel on the Sunset Strip. For those unfamiliar with the name, The West Hollywood EDITION is one of the latest boutique hotel venues from the celebrated EDITION Hotel group – a partnership between Marriott International and hotelier, Ian Schrager, that launched in 2007.
At the time of this writing, the EDITION group boasts nine locations around the world, with The West Hollywood EDITION marking their tenth, and first, in the U.S. West Coast. With ambitious plans to expand the hotel chain in the coming years, the concept behind each location is unique, yet simple. No two cities are alike, so why should their hotels be? The result is a stunning collection of venues representing “a new generation of luxury” that we’re excited to share.
Which brings us to its magnificent design. Minimal yet bold, Ian Schrager joined forces with Architectural designer, John Pawson, to create a concept that seamlessly identifies with its Sunset Strip location and Californian roots. While Schrager’s bold color choices manifest as floor-to-ceiling emerald curtains and blue velvet seating arrangements, Pawson’s designs complement the vibrant colors with calming minimalism.
Found on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the EDITION group picked the perfect location on Sunset Boulevard. Not only is it a central point for many other hotspots around L.A., like Hollywood and the studios, but for out of town guests, it’s only a short ride to the nearest airport (approximately 25-40 minutes depending on the time of day).

Why We Love It
The Ardor Restaurant
Known for their exquisite attention to detail, the EDITION group did not disappoint with their on-site restaurant, The Ardor, from Michelin-starred chef John Fraser.
Fraser, a Californian native, is spearheading the food and beverage experience, showcasing a vegetable-forward Californian cuisine with hyper-local ingredients. Every dish is made with organic produce, prepared simply and presented socially, for what they call, a “contemporary culinary journey.” We can confirm, each bite will leave you wanting more!
If the culinary experience isn’t enough to reel you in, the ambiance will. As soon as you enter the dining area, you’re ambushed by the lush greenery, rainforest feel, and earthy tones. They’ve got enough potted plants for every guest dining at the restaurant!
Find this beautiful experience right off the lobby area on the first floor.
Rooftop Bar, Pool Deck, and Incredible Views
Head to the rooftop for West Hollywood EDITION’s rooftop bar, pool, and stunning views. As with every other space at this thoughtfully designed hotel, The Roof is no exception. Minimal, with enough greenery to keep the staff busy, yet bright, with bursts of royal blue seating cushions.
During the day, soak in the sun and indulge in their delicious on-deck cocktails. The drink menu offers Latin and tropical-inspired mixed drinks with a Southern California flair, and an extensive list of Mezcals and Tequilas, paired with fresh, vibrant, and colorful California citruses… Margaritas anyone? If you’re looking for something a little healthier, opt for one of their wellness cocktails or fresh-pressed juices.
Want to know what our favorite part of the whole rooftop experience is? The panoramic city views! We love how effortless it is to gaze at the Pacific Ocean, Hollywood Hills, or downtown skyline. Let’s just agree that these 360-degree views of LA should not be missed.
State-of-the-Art Screening Room
Accommodating both traditional events and professional theatre quality screening, comfortably fit 91 guests in The West Hollywood EDITION’s beautiful state-of-the-art screening room. The venue boasts 6 removable seats, wheelchair accessibility, and 10 loose recliners, making it easily fitted for your event needs.
Technical features include acoustical isolation, a Dolby sound system, speakers that can perform high peak power output with minimal sound distortion, and of course, high definition video projection. Needless to say, this viewing experience is one for the books.
