Venue Spotlight

Solaz Los Cabos

Each month we feature a hotel venue that’s worth shining the spotlight on. It may be a hot and trendy new boutique property, a historic classic, or a freshly renovated staple. Whichever the route, you’ll want to keep these venues in your back pocket for your next meeting or conference. Read on to learn why Solaz Los Cabos is our June 2020 Venue Spotlight.

Solaz Los Cabos – Our June 2020 Feature

SLC2

We’re in June, which means it’s been a year since my wedding and honeymoon last summer (how time flies!). I know how excited I was, so my heart goes out to all the brides who had to cancel or postpone their weddings this season because of COVID-19. I’m hoping everyone ends up having their dream day when the time finally comes. In the meantime, for those looking for honeymoon destinations to dream about, I’ve got you covered. And, of course, since we’re always on the hunt for great new venues, we’ll show you why it’s an amazing meeting destination as well.

My now-husband and I, Hunter, had the opportunity to stay at the Solaz Resort Los Cabos, for our honeymoon last year. Other than being an absolute dream, I managed to save up my Marriott points from events over the years, and stay completely free!

We loved how much thought went into the design of this hotel, from the jaw-dropping open air lobby to the creative landscape, made from plants native to the Baja peninsula. We mostly hung out by the epic infinity pool, eating aguachile and sipping spicy margaritas. Though, we did hit the spa once (best massage of my life) and the gym twice (excellent variety of equipment + immaculately clean).

While we were there, we also saw two outdoor weddings. They were gorgeous and overlooked the ocean. We had our butler give us a peek of the meeting space, which was stunning, super fresh, and modern (more on the impressive butler service below!).

If you’re thinking about hosting an event here, flying into Cabo is super easy from pretty much any destination. Pair that with the hotel’s exceptional service, design, and venue amenities, and there’s absolutely no reason this spot shouldn’t be on your list for Incentives or Executive Summits.

Total Meeting Space: 20,000 sq. ft.
Nearest Airport: San Jose Del Cabo International Airport (SJD) is 13.0 miles away and reachable within 30 minutes.

Belonging to a trusted brand like the Marriott Bonvoy, we all know this place hits the mark when it comes to nearly every detail. Built only two years ago, this stunning hotel homes 128 rooms and 13 suites (all of which have breathtaking sea side views). But perhaps the best part of this indulgent experience, isn’t the view, but the customer service. Yeah, their customer service trumps their phenomenal views of the Sea of Cortez. How, you may ask? Well, because they’ve designed an Artisan Butler Service to fulfill your every need. Not only are these butlers friendly and fun, but experts in their trade, with seemingly only one desire: to create a magical and unforgettable experience for you (which, I can attest, they do!).

But aside from their exceptional customer service, Solaz Los Cabos also offers a handful of unique experiences for their guests to indulge in. Whether it’s a visit to the Guerrero Negro salt mine, the Valle de Guadalupe wineries, or a drive to the San Carlos and Lopez Mateos to peak at their whale sanctuary, you’re guaranteed to relish in an adventure.

Don’t worry though. If you’re coming to Solaz Los Cabos to host an event, they don’t fall short when it comes to their venues. From tennis courts to their Gabinete del Barco archeology exhibition, you’ll find everything you need to keep your guests entertained and put on a stellar show!

Why We Love It:

1. Iconic Architecture and Art

The Solaz Los Cabos is a work of art and architecture. It was put together by renowned Mexican artists, Sordo Madaleno and César López-Negrete, and designed with a contemporary Mexican style in mind. The hotel uses warm Indigenous woods and tones throughout, creating an immersive experience with the surrounding environment.

Oh, and their wrapping infinity pool that blends with a seemingly endless stretch of sand is also a complete stunner.

2. Great Spaces for Meetings & Events – Resource

With over 20,000 sq. ft. of total meeting and event spaces, Solaz is the perfect venue for your next gathering (whenever that may be). They have a 9,500 sq. ft. indoor conference center with floor to ceiling windows and an 11,000 sq. ft. Calypso Oceanfront Event Deck with beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez. So, whether you’re hosting an incentive trip, executive committee retreat, product launch, or conference, events here are sure to impress each and every one of your guests.

3. Fantastic Dining Options

Like many of the exceptional features from Solaz Los Cabos, dining is an absolute treat. With home-grown produce, contemporary menus, and quality ingredients, they have a host of fantastic venues. Enjoy local seafood dishes prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from the sea at Al Pairo, head to Cascabel for dinner and a show, or sit poolside at Mako for fresh air and a sunset view.

For drinks, check out Fuego on the rooftop or get yourself a glass of wine from La Cava’s selection of more than 2,500 bottles.

Finally, if you’re looking for a sweet treat to top off your evening, you’ll want to make a pit stop at Dos Peninsulas Chocolateria (Best. Chocolate desserts. Ever.).
